I think the question you ask is "why should we not use the term 'squeeze' ?"

From my perspective to squeeze implies a manual action and the trigger should be activated by gently increasing the pressure in a subconscious and controlled manner.

Do I win the prize ? ;-)

Russ,
Ah you see that's why I need help ;-)

How about 'to squeeze' implies a tightening of the grip, whereas we actually mean a gentle increase in pressure, am I up to 60% now ?

I'd better sign off, I'm meant to be working.

trigger squeeze, gently and with the one finger only, moving back along the sight line pulling the trigger to release point. prob missed the point of the game but thought i'd give it a go.

But why would I want any answer to be rated by you. I have not seen anything that convinces me that you are qualified, and I don't mean paper qualifications, to judge others.

I will humour you this time and say that I would not use the word "squeeze" in relation to correct trigger contol. I consider "pull" to be much more appropriate.

How can anybody know what you think is correct. The only things of substance I can remember you posting are all concerned with people paying to go on one of your courses.

I certainly cannot remember you posting any positive suggestions or advice on technique. I am bored with trying to get you to answer simple questions or give proof that you are as knowledgeable as you keep telling us.

" Trigger "squeeze"?????
But you are picking on the wrong word, it should be "Foresight Squeeze".

To produce a good shot you squeeze the foresight back thru the rear sight until the shot breaks.

Who cares what you can score? If you have knowledge you are willing to share on this forum, then share it. If not, then don't waste everyone's time with your little mind games. Save that for your paying students.

Congratulations. You have caused me to change my lurker status.

Trigger squeeze; control; or what ever else you call it

Post by Lanning R. Hochhauser »

Russ,
I am really getting tired of wading through the crap you have been posting. It is reminisent of he who shall remain nameless who used to post here but was asked to leave.

What we want here is what you would say to a shooter about trigger control, for example:

After attaining proper hold and coming down on the target begin to slowly, steadily to pull the trigger to the rear until the shot breaks. The break should be a surprise.

As you are pulling the trigger to the rear should ensure that your finger encounters the trigger in the same place each shot. To help maintain sight alinement during the shot imagine a string connected to the front sight and trying to pull the front sight through the rear sight while maintaining best sight picture.

This is what I do. What do you teach?????????
