Garoppo,

I'm not familiar with the a model "22S" However, I have never seen one in the hands of a bullseye shooter. My educated guess is that it is poorly suited for bullseye competition from the start and worse, it may not be very easy for a gunsmith to give it a good enough trigger job to bring it up to snuff.

As an alternative, you should consider the Ruger MKIII series. They are competively priced, overbuilt to last three lifetimes, are ready to shoot very good scores right out of the box, have triggers that can be easily tuned up by a competent gunsmith for even better performance, eat just about any kind of ammo and lastly, repair/replacement parts are inexpensive very widely available.

If you really like S&W's, consider the model 41 which is an excellent gun for BE competition. You will probably still want to have a trigger job done on it but the 41 is a very common/excellent choice among the BE crowd.

Take care and good luck with your choice.
