I used to shoot a P70 wood stock previously, with good results. I changed 2 years ago to an alu stock, and since my scores have somehow not improved and even droped (sometimes dramatically).
Now I went back to my old wood stock, and I find more predictable shots, and a smoother reaction of the weapon. I have seen that some shooters (Russians, Goenci among others) have not abandonned wood or have returned to it aftre sometime with Alu.

ALU VS WOOD IN AIR RIFLES

guido: I am not sure it is a wood/alu issue as much as it is that maybe the p70 stock is a good one. My rifle is an ans 2002/alu and my daughters have p70's. Those wood P70 stocks to me seem about perfect. They fit well and are light. Not having much weight in the stock allows you to put the weight where you want in the rifle.
