shooting trousers

Post by QUICKBRICK »

I've been shooting 10m air rifle for 6 months now and have got most of the kit with the exception of shooting trousers which will be my next purchase (may-be). I've spoken to a couple of fellow shooters and they told me that the regulations for clothing is changing soon so not to spend too much money on them. Have I been given the correct info ?

It depends on what you mean by "soon."

I got the impression it was in the next year or so. If its going to be 2 or 3 years before/if they change regs than I will probably buy them anyway, but I dont want to buy now and find out in a couple of months that they have been banned.

If anything is imminent it will be discussed and publicised on the ISSF website. I'm pretty sure they'd have to give at least a years notice so that manufacturers could get up to speed and competitiors get the new clothing.

Quickbrick: I was in your place about a year ago. I wound up buying a used pair and I can tell you they help a lot. I suspect if they are eliminated (which would not bother me) it will be a drawn out process. Meanwhile your competitors will be using them.
