Morini 162 EI or EA

Post by XinFLA »

Is Morini 162 EI and 162 EA the same thing? What do they mean, EI and EA? Thanks!

They are the same pistol.

The EI and EA are both Morini's designations for the 162 with electronic trigger and interchangeable cylinder. I have never been totally sure why they have the 2 different designations. I did hear that the EA was used on guns distributed by Gehmann but do not know if that is the only/actual reason.

Probably because Abtauschbar is german for Interchangable.

From what I understand they are sold as the EI internationally and as the EA in Germany. EI in German is Egg!! I suspect that calling it the Morini 162 Egg doesn't have the same ring to it for sales purposes.
