I will try this year to use the pink and/or smoke aperatures. I am trying to get more definition and I have been told to try these. They will also cut some brightness and glare as I am told.
Anyone out there have any luck with these?

Re: Aperature ???
We have some pink ones but haven't used them in ages (15 years). We use clear ones. Though more expensive, you would be better off replacing your iris with one that had colors filters if you're shooting under lots of varying light conditions.allxes wrote:I will try this year to use the pink and/or smoke aperatures. Glass is best!
I've experimented with several aperature types. Here are my thoughts.
1) Pink are okay, but anything tinted cuts down on the light coming through the front sight..
2) Metal is good, but occupies a lot of the front sight
3) Glass, although much more expensive, is extremely crisp and doesn't fill much of the front sight.
4) I've tried the triangular aperatures as well. I didn't really like them it seemed I had to focus on more than one part, versus just relaxing, and shooting naturally.
5) Adjustable size aperatures don't seem to be smooth enough.
