More LP50 questions

Post by Frank »

I have two other questions for you guys

Has anyone put a red dot scope on it, and is the mount on Pilkingtons site a special mount?

Has anyone upped the power on it? Are there any ill effects from doing so?

Thanks again

Yes you can put a red dot on. I used the cheap one you can get from wal-mart for bb's guns.

Yes you can change the power, but why? The setting from factory is usually optimal of accuracy.

If you bought your lp50 from Pilkguns they will usually swap grips with you to the size you need.

Frank:

If you bought your LP-50 From Pilkguns all you need to mount a scope/red dot sight is a Millet angle lock ring as the shroud is already cut for this. I found that the high style ring works well for me.

adjusting "power" of the LP 50

Frank:
The LP 50 are set up at the factory to functin flawlessly at normal ambient indoor temperatures, about 18 - 22 degres centigrade. When turning the pellet velocity adjusting screw inward (clockwise) to increase pellet velocity, you will by about 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn of the screw start to experience double and even triple discharges.
The answer to your question, Frank, is a conditional yes. You can up the power, but not by much.

I would ask why would you want to up the power ? The LP5 & I'm sure the LP50 also, shoot fine at 10M and fine up to 25Y with no obvious loss of accuracy or great affect of wind when shot outdoors.

You will almost certainly feel more recoil and as others mentioned increase the chance of multiple discharges. Additionally you may find the group sizes open up - but would need to do some bench testings to confirm this.

I would advise you leave the power alone unless you are having problems with too low power.
