Repair or replace older CM162?

Got a question here.....

I'm shooting a Hammerli 480 (aka log) for AP right now. Picked up a used Morini, the older fixed-tank model. Great trigger, so-so grips (too thick) - and leading seals.

Should I have the gun repaired, or use it as trade fodder for a new gun or a Steyr?

I would talk to the Morini dealers who service the pistols and see what they say. It's possible some updates can be performed while it gets resealed. If you like the trigger you might regret getting rid of the pistol. You also might not like the grips on the next pistol you get.

Actually you can modify or upgrade to 162EI (the removable cylinder).

Mike as to why you are moving away from the 480. I have both a Morini 162E and the 480. I find the grips on the Morini a bit too thick for me also. The trigger is excellent on the Morini but I do find the Hammerli the more comfortable gun for me. I have adjusted the trigger and find it quite good. In the meantime it is probably very worth your while to have the Morini put back into full working condition and spend more time with it before making any permanent decisions. Both Pilkington and Nygord can probably get it back on the road for you quickly. Good luck with the choices. Joe G.
