Hi,
Has anyone had any problems with accidental release with the Morini CM 84E?
It has happened on 3 occasions when I closed the mechanism.
Possible causes:
1. Strong sunlight can disturb the beam.
2. Battery too weak.
3. ?
The pistol will go off if I cover the beam and strike the rear of the pistol but not by gently closing the mechanism
The trigger is set at around 30 grams.

Accidental release with the Morini CM 84E
This has happened with a couple of older CM 84E, it is not a beam problem but the firing pin slipping off the sear.
It can happen if the firing pin is very dirty (filling the small notch that the sear latchs into) or if the firing pin / sear is worn.
I have repaired a couple of worn ones by recutting the sear notch (ground and diamond lapped).
Better, if it is a well used pistol is to replace both the firing pin and sear assy.

Thank you for your help. Gun is 10 years old so it is perhaps time to take it apart. The two screws that is holding the firing pin is hard to strip down.
