Two-handed grip for AP?

Post by Newbie in SoCal »

Interesting photogs. All my reading so far talks about one-handed grip for air pistol. Am I missing an entire half to the sport?

The Bianchi Cup is an action pistol event where most if not all competitors use a two handed hold. Speed is much more important than accuracy. The Airstrike was an attempt to bridge the provisional ISSF Rapid Fire Air event with a broader base of the action pistol community. We originally adopted the one handed rule, per ISSF, but quickly found that the poor marksmanship skills of action pistol competitors required modifying the rules to allow a two handed hold so that they could keep them on the paper. Its amazing to me, but even two-handed many of them cannot hold the black. The ones who do well in this event, are those that have a pure marksmanship background, such as NRA Bullseye or ISSF/UIT/ISU. We had a perfect score shot yesterday by an Italian with such a background, said he is good freinds with Robert Di Donna http://www.pilkguns.com/intrdd.htm
