Mods to IZH-46 Grips
Does anyone have any pictures or information as to how they modified their IZH grips? I'm curious to see what others have done.
IZH46 Grip Mods
I began by first rounding the "sharp" edge on the left hand grip---I then added finger "hollows" ----all this using a Dremel with a round sanding bit at low speed. I then stippled the entire grip using a Sears engraving tool. When all was done I wiped the both grips and shelf with some Minwax Walnut stain let them sit for five minutes and wiped them down and set them to dry. Then use Minwax paste wax, rub on and buff it to a shine. Voila---a grip that fits , doesn't hurt, won't slip and looks "good." It just takes the guts to slowly & carefully run a Dremel. Of course without the Dremel then sandpaper can do the job in a wee bit more time.

If you email me, I will send some pics of mods that I did quite easily to my 46. In additon, I shimmed the grip where it meets the frame to mitigate the inevitable play that develops from cocking effort. Even my LP1 with its supremely adjustable grip has only a slight edge on the comfort of the 46 as modified. Hope I can be of some help. Craig

Request for advise, pics emailed to you. I have small hands and the 46M is definetly a habdful with a one hand grip that makes my already atrocious? offhand scores really dismal.

If you want to have it done for you, get in touch with the Gripman,

He just modified my IZH-46M grips and did an excellent job. I'd recommend him in a second.
