It is not an issue with quantity but with reliability. You do not want signal going down during the match also depending on a range location can be dealing with signal interference. That is why it is not recommended while definitely possible since recovery from a target looking connection in the middle of the ranked match for example is not something you want to be dealing with.

Modern WiFi has all sorts of redundancy, error checking, buffering, etc. The most I might expect is some latency issues if a target has to re-transmit. The overall data rate of 15 air pistol targets should be pretty low compared to a few devices streaming videos.

You are the experts, but with a high end router (or two), I would think it should be possible to support more than 30 devices with good reliability. I can easily understand that a typical off the shelf router might have problems. If we can spend an extra few hundred dollars to get one or two high end routers and avoid all the cabling headaches, that is a win for us.

Again - it is absolutely possible. Manufacturer strongly recommends wired configuration when setup is used for official matches but it will work.

Thanks! We aren't hosting the Olympics, only intercollegiate matches, but it would be nice it it all went smoothly. I need to work on where we can store everything, but will be in touch. The SQ10 system looks VERY promising.
