Reverse engineering SCATT
Has anyone tried Reverse Engineering SCATT?
Let’s discuss.

Re: Reverse engineering SCATT
Can it be done with a 6-axis bluetooth accelerometer fitted to the grip?
Re: Reverse engineering SCATT
latest SCATT is just a webcam. it detects the image of the black bull circle and computes the movement based on it's movement from frame to frame.
that simple on the hardware part. the software... now there is the bulk of the problem.

Re: Reverse engineering SCATT
Someone on a UK target shooting forum built one and has the source code etc available FOC. Not all the features of the real thing but plenty good enough and probably better than the basic Scatt

That's my project! :) I've just joined here to tell more people about it. I'll start a new thread about it...

Re: Reverse engineering SCATT
The trace 10 mentioned above looks 3d printed. I wonder what components it actually uses on the inside. If you only used a laser on the gun and set up a magnified camera to the left or right of the shooter, then set the shutter to take photos every 1/10th of a second it would function essentially like a SCATT. It would have to be used on a full size 10m range unless you used a reduced target. Then set the photos to scroll quickly and you can watch the laser move around the target. Not as good as an actual SCATT of course, but no programming required.
