Do you have a copy of AMERICAN RIFLEMAN MAGAZINE 9/1967?

Post by Ramon OP »

Hi,

I'm trying to find more information about the Vostok / Baikal IZH-1 (aka IJ-1) free pistol.

I've found the NRA magazine that covers it on Amazon, but it is not delivered to Belgium.

Image

Can any of you send me pictures or scans of the pages about the pistol?

I'm having issues setting the trigger and want to make sure I've correctly identified which screw does what. This is the first pistol I've completely taken appart, and I managed to put it back together ! I'm learning a lot with this.

The 10P Files has very little information and no diagram to identify the screws it numbers.

Thanks !

Possibly. In a garage cabinet at my parent's house. Recently deceased parent's...

If my siblings haven't already trashed them. I think I put a note on them... I didn't have room in my suitcase for anything newer then '63.

Thanks to all. Not needed any more. I got the page and it is just some generic info about the pistol. No luck with the trigger.

In 2022, you posted a link to a manual in Russian:

viewtopic.php?p=318443#p318443

Doesn't that have the info you need?

Also, it may share the same basic design as the TOZ 35M free pistols, so that might provide useful info.

Nope, and I have it translated now :)

I also explored Russian speaking websites and did not get lucky.

This is the first pistol Ive taken appart, amd it worked after putting it back together .

Messing with the trigger is what's giving me trouble. I think there's an issue with the spring and I have to learn how the trigger sear engagement , trigger pivot, and trigger spring screws interact. The trigger is not behaving consistently even when I raise the weight (7 to 112 grams max) and it feels too stiff ,like if the spring is not working .

A great dive into learning :)
