Camp Perry - Gun Smithing

Post by bdutton »

My Junior team has an Anschutz Achiever that is slam firing (hammer is dropping if too aggressive pushing the bolt into position/down.).

I want to connect with a gunsmith that could look at and possible fix the slam fire issue. Anyone know of or on this forum that will be there that could look at it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks to have a 5066/2 trigger according to the online manual. The issue you have is the sear not engaging properly. You may find this comment on this other forum useful: https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/Ansc ... /#i2733967

The CMP should post the list of vendors soon
https://thecmp.org/cmp-national-matches ... formation/

Scott Pilkington has been there the last couple of years for the junior rifle clinic.

The last time I talked to the folks at Anschutz NA, they told me they weren’t going to be at Perry, but they recommended a visit with Creedmoor Armory. At least two of their folks have been to Anschutz armorer classes, and a trained/equipped to help with issues such as this.

Many thanks to Paul B. who helped fix the problem with the slam fire. Ironically, one of my juniors experienced the same problem with her rifle during prone and thanks to Paul's explaining the fix to me I was able to fix her gun.
