CCI Quiet in a Free Pistol

Post by Rover »

Anybody tried it?

I had a few rounds, so I tried them in my TOZ. As a comparo, I shot some CCI Blazer (cheap),

I was looking at my target when one of the guys laughingly said, "I wouldn't use those in competition!"

The holes in the target were noticeably smaller.

Any reports from you folks out there in television land?

Not specifically answering your question, but I once tried the reduced noise CB Long ammo in my S&W 41. This is the ammo that was advertised with a popped kernel of popcorn to emphasize how quiet it was. That ammo would not cycle the 41, and wouldn't even eject, but it shot to pretty much the same point of impact as the CCI SV I used back then. Admittedly, it was not a scientific test, but it gave me enough confidence that I could shoot it and not blame anything on the ammo.

That ammo is amazingly quiet in a rifle, and is way less sound than a break barrel airgun.
