SCATT help

Post by cahner »

Hello,
We are having problems getting an MX 02 calibrated.

It will not show the aimpoint and register a shot. This holds true in both pro or expert. Both the most recent versions downloaded from website.
The sensor is using Hardware version 3 and firmware version 6. The message that an update is available comes up but no way to access.
This one has not been used in several years and was new in 2018.

Any help is appreciated.

What are you using for the aiming point?
What do you have for lighting on the aiming point?
Do you see the target in preview mode and if yes, how does it look?

We have printed targets scaled for distances from 5 to 10 meters.
We have consistent lighting and have used a warm light on target as well as mega link target with light.

In preview mode we can see bull, it just wont show the aim point or register the shot regardless of settings (ultra sensitive trigger and sensitivity setting)

I hope that helps a little

In addition to the operating software, have you also downloaded the drivers from the Scatt website?
Also, the trigger sensitivity setting is counter intuitive, reducing the percentage increases the sensitivity.

Yes, got the new driver as well.
Same results regardless of sensitivity setting.

Sounds like it should work, try additional light directly on the target, I use a 500watt led work light positioned about 3feet from and aimed directly on the target.
Even though I have good general lighting, I get similar results if I don’t have the work light on.

If you're using any recent version of Windows (i.e. Win10/Win11), you don't need to install drivers, they're already inbox. You might want to uninstall the Scatt-provided driver package, in fact.

Lighting is key. Not too much, not too little. Warm white and broad spectrum lighting is best, as well.

Curious, which update? Earlier you said you tried all available versions. I'd love to hear which version worked (and which didn't!).

we tried all that we were aware of.
when plugged in and using expert after pressing about tab the update option is there.
We had tried the diagnostic tool in pro, turns out that is antiquated.

Can you tell us the version that your newly-updated version now displays in the About tab? Thanks!
