K58

Post by PatMcD »

I just bought a Pardini K58 for shooting in my basement. An acquaintance had it on his table at a local gun show. It's a lot more accurate than my FAS 6004 I was using previously. One issue I have is that occasionally it "fires" when closing the lever. the first time it happened, I thought I must have had my hand too close to the trigger or something, but that wasn't it. It'll do it one out of every ten cycles or so. Do you think the trigger may be adjusted too light and the jarring as the lever is closing sets it off?

Most likely needs just a touch more sear engagement.

Worth more than just a "basement shooter". It's capable of match-winning performance.

Great trigger and grips you can work on.

Go forth and kick ass with it.

Two items, trigger weight and sear engagement.

As I recall, AP trigger weight minimum is 500 grams.
You could set it lighter, but I prefer to set to ISSF regulation + buffer.

As Bret said, the trigger sounds like it may have been set to "minimum" sear engagement, for the traditional crisp "breaking glass rod" trigger feel.
I've gotten used to the "rolling" trigger, where you have what some call "creep" in the trigger. That trigger probably has more sear engagement.

An update: I added a 1/4 turn on the trigger sear and it works fine now.
Thanks all!

Howdy Pat.
If you should decide to part with your K58, please keep me in mind.
Earlier this year, I posted a WTB for a K58 here and in Airgun Nation. I got ripped off. Twice. I will never post a WTB again, anywhere.
