Laser Targeting Systems

There seems to be lots of laser targeting systems being marketed. I am a rank novice at bullseye shooting. I have a 10 m airgun range in the basement but no way to practice with my firearms. Obviously I can dry fire and do other training exercises at home but I think I would like a laser training system. Is laser training a good method for bullseye? What systems are best for that purpose?

You would need to purchase acoustic laser that will activate from a sound of dry-firing. The laser starts with .177 caliber and up so you can use your firearm and it is inserted from a front.

I'd have thought that the danger with laser systems is that you end up looking through the sights and at the target to see where you “hit” rather than focusing on the front sight to confirm that your triggering and hold are good. I think a better, albeit more expensive, system would be electronic, e.g. SCATT.

You may want to use Scatt as a sensor bit the scoring it provides is an approximation. Also on top of the hefty pricetag, the type of shooting and drills that are available may not be what is needed.

If you do not need the level of analysis and advanced sensor capabilities available in SCATT, then laser scoring is a good option.

Add a MantisX and you have basic sensor analysis on top of Mantis Laser Academy and a Accurize .22mm acoustic laser and you have a cheap scoring, sensory analysis and even drills for bullseye, idpa, etc. Total pricerag about 1/2 - 2/3 cost of the entry level Scatt.

Not even sure if Scatt does holster draw analysis but mantis does
