Manurhin MR38 Match rear sight blades

Post by radjag »

I have just bought one of these fine revolvers and on carefully looking at the extended rear sight I discover that the sight blade unit is removeable. The one supplied with the gun has a notch 3.1mm wide. It is stamped #1. I prefer a wider notch. I am guessing that Manurhin offer blades with different widths (the rear sight is, I believe, common to both the 32 and 38 Match models). In the past when asking questions of the current USA Importer (Beretta), I have not go much of a response.

Anyone know where I might find Manurhin Rear Sight Blades?

Old manufacture Manurhins came with extra rear blades of different sizes.
Also used to have different front sights and barrel weights, have not seen these offered since Champus/Beretta took over.
Maybe buy spare rear sight and file it bigger.

"Maybe buy spare rear sight and file it bigger."

Works for me, but you needn't buy a spare.

My recent MR38 Match came with 3 rear sight blades, each stamped with a different number. Unfortunately they were all the same width, 3.1mm. Milled one of them out to 4mm. I was also not impressed with the rear sight elevation screw detent notches, which hardly existed. Sent the gun back for a repair. It came back better, but still not as good as older models that I have had.
