Pardini .32 and Small Rifle Primers

I'm in Australia and Small Pistol Primers are like rocking horse manure.

Is it ok to load my Pardini .32 using Small Rifle Primers?

No problem. But, if your crimp is soft you may get malfunctions due to week recoil.
Magnum primers are "the same".

Thank you, I wasn't sure if SRP had more flame (or whatever the correct term would be) over SPP.

I tried Winchester SRP in my 38 special loads when I couldn't get SPP. Would not ignite. That was with a DA pull of 8 1/2lbs. Winchester and Federal SPP worked 100%. I didn't have any Federal SRP to try.

I would think my husband would also have ignition issues with his lightened springs in his target revolvers, I'm hoping that the Pardini's firing spring has enough oomph to be reliable.

I was worried that it could be dangerous (read stupid) to load .32's with SRPs.

Hi everyone. I know it has been a while since the last entry, but with the situation here in Oz re powder and primers, perhaps this is relevant.
First off, I can't locate my notes of about 15 years ago, so what I say is from memory.

Testing primers. Using a .32 revolver (Toz 49). Loaded approximately 1.6gn WST, 98gn HBWC. All cases loaded identically, the only variation being the primers. From memory Federal primers used. Small Pistol, Small Pistol Magnum, Small Rifle, Small Rifle Magnum.

Pistol placed in a machine rest. 10 shots fired for each load.
Velocities varied less than 10% from highest to lowest, but with acceptable consistency within each loading.
Groups at 25 metres varied slightly in consistency, but all in 10 ring.
Perhaps with such a small powder load, the primer effect is negligible.

These days it is possibly shoot what is available!!
