Air Rifle bench Dimensions

Post by Mick Young »

I have been checking out the archives and the ISSf site and even though they mention that ther is no set size for the bench, I was wondering what the shooters consider aceptable sizes
TIA

While ISSF 6.3.12.2.1 "A removable or adjustable bench or stand, 0.7 m - 0.8 m high." uses the wording 'adjustable or removable', this is rarely done. Typically, 10m ISSF Ranges use a fixed bench (easier to attach the winding mechanism).
Using the lower (0.7m) height for the bench top has a lot to recommend it:
- few shooters will find 0.7m too high; while taller shooters can always put a gun box on the bench if needed.
- the range is suitable for wheelchair athletes.

Thanks for that Spencer, can you suggest a width? Our club is building an air range that will be used by the state team and would like to provide them with somewthing that is useable withouit being ridiculous.
