First 10m AP Target (ever)
You want newbie? My first target ever with a 10m air pistol (strong hand). Pretty much a new can of worms for me. (first shot was the best)
Chalk this up to pure impatience: the new K12 was straight out of the box (fill up and go), no sighting in, no practice, probably infinitely bad form. Big difference between this and shooting steel plates DA with a .44 magnum. Feather-weight gun, no recoil, long as hell sight radius, hair-trigger, weird. The k12 has a beautiful trigger though - one could get use to it.
The only good thing is that I suspect it will not get any worse. (?) Next steps is to check the sighting on a rest - but I'm sure the set-up is fine and will beat me every time. I did notice the rear sight seems to be close together - hardly any light can be seen between the front sight and the rear (fills up the rear aperture completely ?).
Question: Do people leave charged cylinders attached to the pistol, or disconnect and store separately?
It is what it is - but clearly fun as hell.

" hardly any light can be seen between the front sight and the rear (fills up the rear aperture completely ?)."
Open up the rear notch (adjust or file). I personally have been very pleased by using a 3/16" chain saw file to make a half moon notch.
"Question: Do people leave charged cylinders attached to the pistol, or disconnect and store separately?"
Both. Some are quite serious about this, but I never cared.

Re: First 10m AP Target (ever)
This pistol actually had an adjustment for opening up the rear aperture.
I used 3 turns to open it up to 200% of the front sight width - so now I have half the width of the front sight on each side. Much more comfortable to look at.
When I check sighting on a rest I'll make sure it has half of the width of the front sight between the top of the front sight and the bottom edge of the black. That's just seems comfortable. Six o-clock and center hold are fine for big steel gongs and silhouettes - but that black dot is pretty tiny from 10m.
No biggee on the cylinder - seems like I might have lost a little over night, but still about halfway between 150 and 200 bar.

I think you might be squeezing the grip as you trigger the shot. Its easy to do.
Try pressing the trigger without any other tension/ movement in your hand, and I bet they all land in the black.

Could very well be - there are so many new variables in play here that it's hard to know where to begin.
Locking my arm and wrist in the "HT" format are also fairly new concepts - so I'm sure a relaxed trigger finger will take some doing.
The grip is really comfortable - but different from just about everything else I have. AND, the trigger is REALLY light and will take some getting use to.

Not a bad effort for your first try. Be sure to post your progress as it'll help encourage others too

Will definitely do.
Good, bad, or ugly - I'm finding that the LT method (raising to the target) is more comfortable, in dry fire mode anyway. I will continue with both for a while until I see a meaningful trend emerge. I'm going through the ISSF "Pistol Shooting" course manual now - so there's a lot to digest.

Re: First 10m AP Target (ever)
Second target (ever) *LOL*
In my "unscientific set-up" in the garage (20') I scaled down the target to 61% of full scale. The black looks about right by my eye.
I took advice from @ade C and tried to focus on trigger motion independent of everything else. Easier said than done. But, that, and 2 of the barrel weights on the front end in LT mode made for a much better score. Good or bad - lifting the gun to the aim point seems to feel more natural to me. I'm sure years or revolver shooting has had some effect. Technically all "in the black" except one. I know I "jerked" a few - but I'll get the hang of it eventually.
There's also the ago old problem of wanting to see the score before the shot's over...............c'est la vie.
This Wednesday night I'll be shooting my first full 60 shots on 6 targets at the club. We'll see how that goes.

A little wine with dinner will smooth things a bit. Bourbon works, too.

We use to run marathons in a former life, but now it's down to a decent Chianti with dinner EVERY night. The drier the better actually.
Blood pressure, cholesterol, whatever: my doctor says he doesn't necessarily want to know per se, but whatever I'm doing - keep doing it.
The shoot starts at 6PM - I can't see any reason to interrupt a healthy constitution for the sake of a handful of pellets......

You may wish to try a nice Valpolicella.

You don't drink that with FAVA BEANS, do you?

What? With all those great, huge-bodied Zinfandels out there?

"ever since the French taught the Italians how to make wine".
Was that before or after the Italians taught the French to cook?

I'll give you that - I'll take Italian food over French every time.
And for the Fava beans - we had this green slime in Genoa once (spinach pasta, Kava, walnuts, and pesto). Very tasty but really hard to get past the eyes. Almost florescent in appearance.
Ok- had an hour this morning so I stopped by the range and shot 10 pellets each at 6 targets (I literally live right up the road).
My 3rd-8th 10m targets, and first time with 60 shots (using HT):
370 - 67, 67, 58, 62, 59, 57 - so at least I now have a benchmark. Good circular pattern distribution except for a few REALLY high (2,3,4). Again, jerked a few, "target hunting" all over the place - but the arm motion and lifts were good practice. I can see how it could take thousands of lifts to get the muscle memory down. I play Scrugg's style 5-string banjo - so I get that part.
So............. we persevere.

Re: First 10m AP Target (ever)
Had time to shoot 2 targets (#9 and #10) this morning before work (also installed and figured out how to use the TargetScan app).
This will take time, but I'm pretty sure with practice I will get this. Question: If shooting in marginal lighting do people put something white, or light colored, on the floor so it's easier to ensure that the front & rear sights are aligned before you raise the pistol?
