Mobile Apps
Hi,
I'm new here. Do you use any mobile applications while training, for example, for keeping a training diary, analytics or something? Could you please tell me what you use and for what purposes?

Re: Mobile Apps
You could start with this app

Re: Mobile Apps
I looked at that targetscan but i am surprised its 20$ with an $8 add-on for full functionality. That being said, most seem to use it if they use one
Re: Mobile Apps
TargetScan +1
Re: Mobile Apps
How well does Targetscan work compared to a scoring plug? I sometimes get hits that leave the hole outside the next line, but a scoring plug actually shows it reaching the line. Does Targetscan have good enough resolution to spot edge cases like that?
Re: Mobile Apps
Targetscan accuracy is great but it requires a good image to get there. The photo's hole backlighting, straight-on orientation and distance from the target are all very important. If the image is oblique or fisheyed it induces error. You can't just whip off a quick snapshot and expect perfection. But it can and does deliver that, with some care. You can also fix the scoring manually.
The most useful data it gives, in my opinion, is the grouping and heat map, in addition to the "potential" score if the group landed optimally. It's especially interesting to see how these parameters change when training specific skills.

Re: Mobile Apps
Another target scan user, for 18 months. Expensive but worth it, especially over months/years of use.
We've also started using it with our mandatory internal club competitions, being able to easily export the data, we have the ability to show each shooter how they've been improving (or not), and have been able to better focus training/advice
As for accuracy, we probably get 99% accuracy, moving in manual the other 1%. Personally I find if you can scan when the target comes back to you, that's the best time to get the accuracy you need, otherwise, we pop the targets onto an iPad screen with a blank white image.

LOVE target scan.
I play this youtube video (12 hours white screen)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3pF2jkQ4vc
slide the target between the screen and it's frame, and then take the picture for targetscan.
worth every penny

Re: Mobile Apps
There have been a few times targetscan could not detect a double hit that was obvious and scored a 38 instead of a 47. I just retake it a few times and it eventually finds the 5 hole. If it puts it in the wrong place, it can be moved as an overlay to the correct location.
