Most common wrong habits or as I call them "human" mistakes (mistakes made because we are all humans not robots. and I'm not talking about technical mistakes here) are:
- not to have a goal
- to socialise too much/interact with other shooters during training (by doing this you disturb other people practice btw)
- not to dry fire in the beginning of the training
- to shoot matches at every single training
- to think about outcome (score, place) too much
- to worry that someone is watching you
- to focus on trigering too much
- to think that you're not good enough
- to not know your shot process
- to be impatient ;-)
I help to discover your correct shot process and develop system of training that you were able to repeat this process as many times as necessary.

Hi. What is common between a person with a light form of autism; a person with “protrusion, small lumbar hernia, and sacral cysts as well as scoliosis and suspected fibromyalgia”; a person with diagnosed dyslexia and diabetes; a person in a wheelchair; mother with 3 kids and 3 cats; a pilot; 16 yo and 73 yo? …It is their passion for shooting, of course. Additionally, they are my students. I’ve collected enough practical and theoretical experience as well as an experience of work with different types of people. I guarantee an individual approach and tailored training plan. My training is not only about telling you what to do, but how and why. To provide you with a better opportunity to learn and grow as a shooter I would like to announce a “Christmas Sale” - give me your best offer and I’ll give you mine 😊 This is for new students only and lasts until 7th January (Orthodox Christmas). By the way, on 7-9 December you have a chance to participate in this year’s final Air Pistol control match along with other shooters worldwide. Just send me your scores.

Hi. Very often I get this question: “Coach, I cannot shoot my training scores at the competitions. What to do?” I wish I had a short answer to this complex and the most important question for all shooters of the world. I can put it shortly, but it involves the massive amount of work. 1) You need to have the correct system of trainings. Each training should make sense, you need to discover something correct and positive, preserve it in your memory and move to another session. Ideally, your coach should help you to find the correct shot process. 2) Once you find your correct process of the shot, at the training you need to try to simulate the stress which you experience at the comps through the various tasks and challenges. But there is no point to shoot the match at every training because this way you get used to thinking about the score too much, you do not get the shot process right and you do not get same emotions either. 3) You need to participate at as many competitions as possible, but no more than twice a month. You need to get exposed to the stress and look for the ways to control your pressure/emotions/anxiety/adrenaline, etc. And I’ll teach you how to do all of this at my sessions

OK, I feel that I need to share my story and write my experience about this type of training.

I contact Dina in mid March 2018 because I felt that I'm stuck and I knew that I need someone else to help me out. I'm in the shooting since 2006 with few breaks in between and never before had a coach. My result when I asked for Dina's help was anywhere between 565 and 572. I've had only one question for her: "Can you help me out to reach 580?" She told me that she can't guarantee because everything is gonna be on me and how much I can give myself in to it, but on the other hand that she have a technique and all tools that I will need for my success. We all know that jump of 10 points or more is a huge jump especially from 570 to 580 and no one can do it in a short term. To be honest I was skeptical about everything but I decided to give it a chance and I took 10 sessions with her.

Only thing that I can say about Dina is that she does her work professionally and honestly. I'm really grateful for all effort and patience that she put in to this journey. Now, a bit over a year later I just can't say thank enough and would recommended Dina to anyone who is willing to improve its own shooting. She helped me a lot and she changed my shooting ethics which helped me to become a better shooter.....

I know that picture can say more than a 1000 words, here is my yesterday's training.....

Image

I didn't reach 580 but I'm there, in this session I've had five 9.9 shots and one 8 and no one is more happier than I am right now because this is telling me that there is a ton of room for my improvement.

Dina thank you once again and I want you to know that you will always be a part of my shooting success.

Hi. I haven't been here for a while... A huge THANK YOU to m@nkey for the feedback! I am very glad that you took everything on board!!!
An update from my side: for the last couple of years I have been training myself and recently was selected into my 4th Olympic Games team. I also worked in India with Gagan Narang's Academy Gun for Glory (where one of the students, 19 yo, shot her pb 587 in SP). But with this pandemic situation and OG being postponed I have more time and would like to offer my course again. More information in the link provided https://www.olympicpistol.com/dina-aspa ... We need to repeat only 4 movements: lock your wrist whilst on the table, raise your arm 3 target sizes above the target where you check the shoulder, eyes on the front sight and squeeze the first stage, come into the aiming area, maintain it and finish what was started at the top plus 1 sec for follow-through. Easy…

Dina, at the above the target stage, do you just start the first stage pull, or do you finish the first stage completely, then come down to aiming area? Start the pull above, finish first stage pull through in aiming area vs. pull to end of first stage, then come down to aiming area to finish things off?

To Seamaster: the first stage is usually light, so I pull all of it above the target until the "wall" (second stage) which is quite distinct on Morini. Then reach my a/a and finish "leftovers".

Hello. I am finally back (almost... 1 week of the hotel quarantine left) from my 4th Olympic Games. This journey after 5 years break, has taught me a lot. I resumed shooting in 2017 feeling almost as a beginner, went through a lot of mental and physical obstacles and finished in the top 8 mixed teams at the Olympic Games. So, now I am comfortable in saying that my system of training/methods work and I'm happy to share them with my students. I am also happy to add that now I'm more experienced in coaching Bullseye, plus now I am ready to train Rapid Fire pistol event with the help of my husband who was a Soviet Union National team RFP coach.

G'day from Australia. I decided to retrieve this thread to firstly, thank the community of the Targettalk for keeping referencing young shooters of all ages to me 💕 Secondly, I would like to invite you to participate in my Facebook Air Pistol control match between December 10th and 17th because this month I'll be awarding shooters who shot their personal best with 1-hour online session with me where you can ask all questions about shooting that bother you, and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. This is the link for Facebook users https://www.facebook.com/events/2343254 ... f=newsfeed
If you don't have a FB account, you can submit your current PB score to me via email Coach-Dina@proton.me. Then shoot the match at any convenient for you day and time according to the ISSF rules and send me the score by series and attach a printout or target photos or targetscan.
If you don't want to participate in the control match but still have questions about shooting, maybe you'll be able to find the answers in my blog https://dinaaspandiyarova.com/blog . I also became more serious about my video channel, and it has more videos now https://vimeo.com/user151166467 .
And another update is that I completed a couple of courses on NLP and have a hypnotherapy course coming so I'm moving more towards training the mental side of shooting and my methods are suitable for shooters of all disciplines.

I found Dina on the Internet and contacted her about her program. Although I had hoped to find a local instructor, what she said made sense to me so in August 2022 I started taking lessons from her over Skype. She first had me fill out a questionnaire about myself, age, shooting background, pistols I use and many, many more things so she an idea of where to start with me. She was like a good golf instructor who first watches your swing and then develops a plan for improvement. I starting improving but in December 2023 I had a heart attack and spent a month in the hospital after open heart surgery. It was several months before I was able to do much of anything.

I am now much better and am starting to shoot Air and Free Pistol again. I still have all of the notes and information from back then so I am starting to train again. I will be scheduling another series of lessons with her in the future.

I would enthusiastically recommend her as a very good and qualified coach and trainer.
