Screw up!

Post by nmondal »

Guys.
So as usual, after months of OK stuff may I present the greatest screw up.

Questions, HOW? WHY?
My hand literally shook when taking these 2 shots.
( muzzle flip ? )

Any clue.. what went wrong?
And how to fix it?

started with a nice 5 shots group, watching the front sight.
then an 8 and then a 6 came, spoiling the fun.

1. It isn't about the "fun."
2. What did you learn from this beyond that you may have the attention span of a gnat?

I myself retracted my comment.
Perhaps original was made in jest - and my "corporate" sensitivity took it a bit too far.
I was quick to react.
I am extremely sorry.
Sorry to William too - he had been helping us newbs in all possible way.

Now that we are at peace... this is peacetime shot - just after 30 mins or more I was pissed about those runaway shots.

Indeed, I suffer from ADHD— meaning that, short attention span.
This is a kind of therapy for me that I try to concentrate and keep focus a little longer.
Though, not so successful.
Still, doing a lot of dry fire on the white wall— at least more than live shots.

Man, you need to concentrate only for 5 secs. That is it.
Then repeat again.
ADHD does not matter and will not matter.

5 sec of concentration will barely get you started IMHO.
I’d say that for a properly executed shot the time requiring full concentration is about 25-35 seconds.
- 10-15 sec preparation, mental walk through of your shot. A few deep breaths, feeling your stance etc.
5-7sec. Lift and lowering down into aiming area, proper grip, trigger 1st stage etc
5-10 sec. settling in aiming area, squeezing the trigger. The shot breaks
- 2 sec, follow through

Depending on how fast you go through a match there won’t be a whole lot of time to “not concentrate” in between shots.

Skanaker’s strategy was to maintain total concentration for about three shots, then let the mind wander and relax for a little while, then three new shots of total concentration. Mix it up with a few longer breaks (3-5 minutes)

Sad day for this target paper! What target are you using, 'cuz that paper totally sucks.

Now that Kruger is gone; what is best source for targets?

There have been several threads recently about this. There are a couple options:

1) Order direct from Kruger in Germany

2) Order from Cibles in Canada

For more details, use the search feature.

I'm not going to re-read this thread to see if I posted it, but Neal Stepp has some excellent Euro targets. Phone him.

Did you launch a pellet into a leg? No? Then it was a good day.
