No, the iris adjust the opening in the rear sight that you look through. In this case, it will go from .8mm to 2.0 mm. The rear sight usually comes with an aperture size of 1.1mm. Being able to adjust the size will improve the focus of the target in the front sight and it will bring front and rear sights and the target into the same focal plane.
