What are the exact weights of anschutz 20xx-series 690, 660, and 500mm barrels (just the barrel, not the action)?
I assume it is safe to assume that the linear density of the steel is constant along the length of the barrel (accounting for increased radius of the flange at the end). If this is not the case, I would like to know that.

I don't know, but a 2013/690-U6 weighs 7.4lbs and a 2007/660-U6 weighs 7.0lbs (according to the Anschutz catalog) so 30mm/1.2in of barrel must weigh about 0.4lbs.
Therefore a 660mm barrel weighs 8.8lbs and the action adds buoyancy to bring the overall weight down to 7.0lbs.

Please, for the love of all physics teachers and common sense everywhere, tell me you were being sarcastic and/or pointing out a flaw in the catalog!

<grin> Anschutz has obviously rounded their numbers. If the correct numbers were 7.35 and 7.05, the 30mm of barrel would be 0.3 lbs, the 660mm barrel would be 6.6 lbs and the action would weigh 0.4 lbs. Hmmmmmm, perhaps they rounded the metric numbers, converted to imperial and rounded again.
If you look up the density of steel and measure the outside diameter of your barrel (the inside should be fairly close to 0.22 in), you can probably calculate a barrel weight that's close enough for your purposes.
