Adult shooter looking for coach and gear advice

Post by rsadek »

Hi All,
During high school and college, I used to compete in smallbore and air rifle. Now I'd like to get back into it, but things have changed quite a bit. I'd like to link up with a coach locally or remotely and to discuss which (air rifle) gear might be appropriate for returning to the sport. Any suggestions on how to find a coach, especially one who works with experienced adults? How effective is remote coaching (e.g. with SCATT) ? Any suggestions on air rifles are welcome as well!
Thanks!

you'd like to find a local coach....
where is "local?"
Hammer to shape, file to fit, paint to match...

Isn't there a range at the NRA nearby? I'd bet that someone there would be qualified.

Its a junior team but they have coaches that may be able to help.

Buy a CMP Daisy. Might scratch the itch alone, but then you'll surely need more.

I am sort of in the same place as the Original Poster, is there a way an individual not in a club can buy from the CMP?

I am unsure if there are clubs/coaches near Boston MA.

The Daisy 853s can be purchased without club affiliation (or at least they used to).

The CMP 853 is only $120 and the accuracy is awesome.

You don't need to be a member.
