I need to dry fire

I need to dry fire practice and was wondering if I can use my FWB65 for that. This is my only air pistol at the present and sure would like to dry fire train.

Yeah you’ll damage your gun dry firing it. You’ll have to just go for aiming practice instead

You can just overpressure the trigger, often thats better than dry firing.

Although forum members say you can dry fire your pistol, I strongly advise you not to do so. The piston cylinder of the FWB 65 is made of an alloy that is brittle, fractures can form with continous dry firing and eventually you'll need to replace the part.

Press the trigger against the stop.

You can add a bit of urethane if you want so its in the normal release postion.

Dry firing is useful but trains you to apply exactly the right amount of apparent pressure to just release the sear.
Then when you go to a match "it won't go off" your perception has changed due to adrenalin etc.

Thank you all for the help. I will try putting some foam or something behind the trigger. Thanks JamesHH that is a great idea, that will help with grip and trigger finger placement. Now I'll keep looking for factory stocks with their adjustable palm shelf, a friend has a Anshutz pcp with Nils on it that fit me perfectly, too bad they won't fit my 65.
