Smallbore Stock Width - Survey

Post by lyoke2 »

Hello,

I am doing a bit of research on stock widths.

I am looking for the width of the fore-end of the following stocks:

Anschutz – 1918/2018 Alu, 54 Wood
EC – Universal
Walther – KK500 – Wood and Aluminum
Tec Hro – Fanatic
MEC – Mark 1

If you have any one the measurements, please let me know.

Thanks!

1.576" wide for the Anschutz 1918 Precise. If it matters, it is not 1.576" flat across the bottom, but has a 'U' shaped profile. It is quite narrow at the bottom where the hand stop attaches.

For wood-stocked 54s, my 1613 is 2.28in, and my 1811 is 1.925in.

Lake,

The Anschutz 2018 stock that I have here is 1.732" wide. The 1918 and 2018 stocks are not the same width as noted above.

Interesting,

Pete do you have the newer black alu precise stock?

Perhaps the other size is the older silver precise stock? Or vice versa.

I appreciate the input.

I think the 2018 is a little wider than the 1918, reflecting the width of Anschutz round and square actions. I'm sure I was told the 2018 would accept a Bleiker action, but the 1918 would not.
