When I was down in the USA for a 2700, I let a couple of the people there shoot my Chiappa Rhino 60DS (I had brought it along, but didn't use it in competition). The looks on their faces while shooting it were priceless.

One of the shooters is quite accomplished with a revolver, and befuddled is probably the best description of his look. He described the trigger as quite good and the recoil as "Not wrong, but strangely and unexpectedly different."

He and the match director then proceeded to have a discussion if it would even be allowed in DR.

Now it seems that Chiappa is taking the idea of revolver competition seriously.

Seems to be put together by a British company that makes a 120DS long gun version. That is a 12" barrel and extension under the grip to meet British long pistol rules.

So the grips are supposedly available, the front shroud is custom so that the Aristocrat sight rail can be installed.

Looking to get the grips for my Rhino. Would be nice to have a way to mount the rail on the standard 60DS.

And I don't know what differentiates the .38 spl version from the .357 standard version.

A little research (you don't need me to provide links) will show that to be correct. I'll bet Rover's last nickel Chiappa found ways to cheapen it just as they did with the FAS 604.

Great concept but it cannot be used for ISSF with such a low barrel line.

Can't speak for the 604, but the Rhino is excellent. Love mine.

Same is often said in bullseye. WIth a few diehards shooting revolvers in .22, centerfire, and 45.
But realistically, if you're going to put in all that work to master a pistol would you try for a WR or serious ISSF competition with a revolver?

Now, all that being said if the current stable of euro CF guns doesn't float your boat in terms of different, maybe try a Laugo Arms Alien and shoot full power 9mm instead of .32long.

As I remember David Levene saying, the ISSF CF course are 60 single shots, so using a revolver (not taking into account the higher line of sight) is no bother.

I have a S & W model 19 with patridge sights, and and I don't think putting 2.000 Euro over it for a pardini will do better for me than throwing the 2.000 Euro in primers, powder and lead.

Also, I'm not getting any younger and the ease of emptying the cylinder on the table instead of stooping all around the range and arguing with other shooters over ownership of a case is defining for me :) ;) :)

Anyway, use what you like the more; almost all of us here are anything but overgrown chidren with costly toys.......................
