Handicap accomodation waivers

i lost most of my rt foot to flesh eating bacteria. The rules say you can't stiffen shoes or zso supports.
The rulebook also gives you a path for reasonable waivers for equipment needed to get around a handicap.
Has anybody done this and if so do you have any pointers. I need to legalize carbon plates in my shoe so I can stand. Without them standing to shoot is almost impossible ......
