Fun for me

Post by Rover »

I just moved to Coeur d' Alene. (Damn, this is a beautiful area!) The local club has a small Bullseye program.

Is there any other Bullseye or Olympic Pistol activity around? Can't seem to locate any on the web.

Not sure how far "around" you are looking for. Missoula and the Butte/Anaconda area had some pistol matches. You might try contacting the Montana Rifle and Pistol Association----they generally put out a match schedule that also includes Idaho,Washington, Wyoming and parts of North Dakota.

Join the CMP, if you are not already signed up. Then you can shoot the ACES program like I do. For 8 bucks they will send you the orion score cards, shoot them and then mail them back. Not a bad deal and they usually get 30-40 shooters.

Thanks, George. I planned to do some postal stuff, but I want to shoot what's here, too.

Hello Rover,

I grew up just across the state line in Spokane, Wa and competed as a junior in 3p smbore and air rifle. It's been over 20 years since I left so I don't know what the competition status is in the region but if you haven't already, I would recommend checking out the following:

Spokane Rifle Club - https://spokanerifle.com/
Spokane Valley Rifle and Pistol Club - https://svrpc.com/
Coeur d'Alene Rifle and Pistol Club - https://www.cdarpc.org/
Washington State Rifle and Pistol Association - https://wsrpa.org/ 2019 Pistol competition schedule - https://wsrpa.org/pistol/2019-pistol-co ... -schedule/

Enjoy the Inland Northwest!

Only CDARPC has "our" kind of shooting in the area (that I've been able to find).

Nampa, ID albeit almost 7 hrs from you had a good pistol program back in the day. http://www.nragc.com/shooting-disciplines/

You could also check out Sharp Shooting Indoor Range in Spokane and see if they have anything on tap or if they can point you in the right direction. https://www.sharpshooting.net/

Your best bet is the western side of Washington state. https://wsrpa.org/wp-content/uploads/20 ... hedule.pdf and, as another person commented, here's a bunch of reasons to visit the beautiful state of Montana: http://www.mtrpa.org/index.php/match-schedules
