So far I have been to Haltom City and Dallas Pistol Club and they both have very active 10m pistol program(s) which I applaud. But wonder if anyone knows of a currently active 10m AR group??
If not then I would solicit anyone lurking here to see if they want to join me at DPC to get something started. I'm a greenhorn but everyone starts somewhere! Thanks in advance!! d7

Could you post contact info, website, schedule, directions, whatever, for the Dallas/Plano AP clubs...
I will probably be making a sudden trip to Plano in the near future and it might be an enjoyable break to visit and shoot a match
Thanks,
Poole

DPC aka Dallas Pistol Club or http://www.dallaspistolclub.com/ will give you all the location details. Don't go at night the first time or you will never find it.
For their air pistol program they have training every 1st & 3rd Tues and Saturday. But, since I was there last night, I understand schedules can change and it is best to email ecjopcwong@cs.com if you want to stop in.
As for HCRP, 2100 MINNIS DR, HALTOM CITY, TX 76117
P# (817) 834-8498 is the location. They have something every Thursday eve but TomF can provide more info.

Re: 10m Air Rifle club/team in Dallas/Plano area?
Coach Wong's organization website is available here: http://www.nassa.org
As was mentioned, we hold air pistol training the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9a-11a and Tuesday evenings from 7p-9p.
Coach Wong's email is ecjopcwong@cs.com.
He hosts 4 PTO's per year (Air Pistol only). The next one is December 6, 2003.
We have about 8-12 shooters in regular attendance at the training sessions.
The other closest regularly-held PTO's in Texas are held at the University of Texas at Austin. These are held almost every month and in most cases Air, Free, Standard, and Rapid Fire matches are held. Occassionally they'll shoot Centerfire off-site at a local range. Phil Winsborough is the match director. The cost is $14 and that will allow you to shoot all events.
The next scheduled PTO's in Austin are:
Nov 14-16
Dec 12-14
There will be spring matches also but Phil hasn't scheduled them yet.
Check out http://www.txis.com/~brad/utrpc/ for more info about the UT club.
The Haltom City Club has a great airgun range, and I believe has an airgun league on Thursday nights from about 6p-9p.

Re: 10m Air Rifle club/team in Dallas/Plano area?
HCRP 10m indoor rifle and pistol league runs from about the first of the year, every Thursday, until the Thursday before Thanksgiving.
It is very informal but the competitors are quite serious. Shooting commences at 18:30 and runs until 22:00. You are expected to keep track of your own time limit. You can shoot as many matches as you want at $5.00 a match. There are 7, and if necessary 8, shooting points with electric target changers.
If all points are full, you just have to wait your turn. When others are waiting to shoot, you can only shoot one match then go to the end of the line if you want to shoot more. This enables more shooters to shoot a match with the limited space available.
It is lots of fun and the competition is high quality. We have several state and national champions in out club in most disciplines and if you dont have a gun to shoot, usually one will be provided by one of the other shooters.
You do not need to be a member to shoot a match. All matches are open to the public.

Re: 10m Air Rifle club/team in Dallas/Plano area?
Bill,
Didn't I see on your site that you're into silhouette?
Haltom City is an active smallbore rifle silhouette club and Ft Wolters -- west of Ft Worth -- will hold a centerfire rifle silhouette match 3rd Sunday November.
Let us know when you plan to be in the metroplex and we'll see what we can set up if you're interested.
