What is a Sierra bullet?

Thank you very much. But my problem is this: is there some bullet design called, perhaps colloquially, 'Sierra bullet'? I read in a book about Vietnam war: "He's been hit with a stray bullet." "No, it's me who did the job. If so, you are going to find 173 grain Sierra bullet in him." I presume, Sierra bullets do not have a legend 'Sierra bullet' on their jackets.

If you were reading a sniper related story, then you need to know that the snipers often fired a "Match" round which used a Sierra match bullet.
If other circumstances, then it is probably the authors hyperbole.
