prone rifle
I'm looking to upgrade my rifle for prone shooting. What is the best for prone the 1907 in a 1914 stock or the 1913. I'm open to all suggestions.
Re: prone rifle
The 1907/1914 is essentially a slightly lighter and smaller 1913. The 1907 barrel is 1.2in shorter and a little more than 1/2lb lighter than the 1913. The bolt and trigger are identical. From memory the 1914 and wood 1913 employ the same hardware. If you are of smaller build the 1907/1914 may be more comfortable, but a tall burly bloke is likely to prefer the 1913.
If you aren't wedded to an Anschutz the Walther KK500 is popular, and comes with sights. If money is no object, Grunig, Bleiker, Reider & Lenz look tasty. US shooters could consider custom builds on the various BR actions.
