Homemade cun-case
Hi there,
there is a nice wooden gun-case on the German Market (255€ !!!), that fits well to all demands of AP and FP shooting and the equipment. Even with a fitting for monoculars. Up to three guns can be fixed upright in the case.
Are there any plans on the market to build something comparable at home?
Thanks Raub

Re: Homemade cun-case
Hello,
Built this one for my IZH, it took one Sunday to make. It's made of Mahogany ply, foam core and crush velvet inner lining. I traced out the profile with a pen and cut out the perimeter with a soldering gun. Pinched out the contours with my fingers, test fit a lot. Pre-cut the velvet larger than what is needed just in case. Used 3M adhesive spray on the foam and lay in the velvet starting in the contours first and working outwards. Here a pic http://gkuhi.tripod.com/photo/izh/P8270483.jpg it turn out okay nice custom fit.

Re: Homemade cun-case
I own a p3 and built my own case mine is not half as fancy as mahogonay and crushed velvet but it works I used a Plano tool box and some plano small boxes for storage and some foam from Wal-mart and used two 75cent mouse pads for the lining so the gun doesnt stick to the origanl shelfpaper foam I put in there (friction tape kept lifting the old stuff) whole thing cost maybe $15! it serves its purpose!!
