Benelli MP95 questions

Post by Ricardo »

I have a couple of MP95's, Atlanta edition, and I'd like to know if I can disassemble the magazine by just pulling off that black plastic thing at the bottom. I think my mags are getting full of gunk. Also, how can I take apart the rear sight to change the blade? I found a reference here mentioning two pins, but I couldn't understand which ones or what direction to push them. Note that I'm not versed in hardware lingo, so maybe that's my problem. I'm assuming that this vintage pistol is not amenable to the newer adjustable rear sight but correct me if I'm wrong.

I've disassembled the 6 round Benelli magazines by removing the rear pin on the base of the magazine. That's the pin furthest from the muzzle when the magazine is inserted. It's a roll pin, so a decent quality roll pin punch will work.

Here is an image from Larry's for that magazine. Once the rear pin is removed, the base slides forward and disassembly is like most other magazines. Using a punch to hold back spring tension during disassembly and reassembly helps considerably. If you've never disassembled a magazine and want to practice on a similar magazine, get a S&W M41 magazine and take it apart a few times.
