Chronograph data for the Alliant BE86 powder in 32 WadCutter

Post by fc60 »

Greetings,

Just finished my initial testing of the Alliant BE86 powder with the 32 S&W Long WadCutter.

There is no published data that I know of. So, use this powder at your own risk.

Test parameters as follows...

Barrel is a second hand Pardini HP barrel with a 0.3135" groove diameter mounted in a barrel tester.

Target distance is 50 yards.

Bullets are re-swaged Speer "Plinker" 98 grain HBWC measuring 0.3143" diameter.

Chronograph is 20 feet from the muzzle of the barrel.

If you are interested in viewing my results, send me a PM with your "real" email address and I will send you the data.

Cheers,

Dave

I don't own a 32, but curious. Is it better than WST? Would it be worth looking into for 38 wadcutter?
