Now that Free Pistol is no longer on the Olympic program, will it still have a final at World Champs etc?
Or, can we go back to awarding the gold medal to the best shooter over 60 shots?
And, can we now go back to calling it Free Pistol instead of 50m Pistol (please!)?

Re: Future format for Free Pistol
I agree with both of those suggestions.
I will admit that as much as I dislike the finals format the IOC currently uses, I have several friends who really like it and it's the reason they have become interested in these disciplines. So who know maybe the IOC was onto something, but I know what I prefer as a competitor.

I’d hate to shoot a world record in the qualifier only to go on to blow the finals and miss a medal. The head to head format does tend to draw in spectators so from that point of view it’s not a bad thing.
