Both the Anschutz and Rem 40X would probably be of equal accuracy after testing for best ammo. The main difference is that Anschutz makes at specific gun for the discipline with all dimensions and features legal according to the rules of the sport. Also, the trigger of the Anschutz MS rifles are extremely fine from the factory. The 40X would need trigger work at the very least and perhaps an aftermarket replacement.

Go for the Anschutz without doubt. You will not regret it. I have a 40-X and it is plenty accurate, but the trigger is not in the same league as the Anschutz. The 40-X stock is basically obsolete and would be a source of endless frustration trying to upgrade it to what the Anschutz has. There is virtually no factory support in the form of accessories for the 40-X whereas Anschutz has an incredible array of accessories.
