AP pistol(s) at matches?

Post by Craig E. »

Would appreciate info. Can a shooter use more than one pistol during a course of fire for AP. If both pistols would be legal, does one have to complete a match using the same pistol with which he starts shooting? TIA

NO, you cannot change pistols. It is a DQ offence.
ISSF rule 8.4.1.1.1
The shooter must use the same pistol in all stages and series of an event unless it ceases to function.
If that happens, ISSF rule 8.8.0 will apply.

Perfectly OK under ISSF rules provided that the first one breaks, see rule 8.4.1.1.1

Both Sandy & David are right.
The rules implies that you cannot change your AP just because in the course of compeititon, you think the other AP have better performance. You will be disqualified.
However, as in the situation that David mentions, if the AP used at the start of the competition breaks down and cannot be repaired in reasonable time, you can switch to another AP, take for gratned that it is being approved.

Thanks all for the input. Confirms my suspicion.
