Sweater recommendation for smallbore prone

Post by SRay53txtn »

Looking for a shooting sweater for small bore prone.
My Hanes sweatshirt is OK, however, want to get better fit for my Gehmann coat.
Comments and recommendations highly appreciated.

The Creedmoor Shooting Jerseys are a bit expensive but very well built; good zippers, comfortable, and won't wear out.

This is a slight tangent, but whatever type of sweater you buy, get a thin long sleeved skiing/hiking baselayer to wear underneath. These are much more breathable than cotton t-shirts in hot weather so your jacket becomes less like a sauna.

I like Kurt Thune, more ventilated than the others

Yeah I use a Kurt Thune as well, which I particularly like because it stays relatively tight to the body so you don't have to deal with the problems of having it get all bunched up. Then I wear a thin under armor 'heat gear' base layer to try and keep moisture off during hot days. I actually cut the arms off my kurt thune sweater after a few years, but that just has to do with the fit of my jacket and personal preference.
