Book for 10M AR Shooting
Quick question: is the book "Air Rifle Shooting" a supplement to "Ways of the Rifle", or is it a stand-alone book?
Should I get both, or is the air rifle book sufficient by itself?

Re: Book for 10M AR Shooting
They cover some of the same topics, but they are both worth having. I got both, and have never regretted it.
Re: Book for 10M AR Shooting
Think of "Ways" as the overall book and guide to the positions for both Air & 3-P.
"Air Rifle Shooting" is the Masters program for the airgun ... more focused on the standing position.
I think having both is a real plus.

Thanks. I'll read Ways first and then the air rifle book.
Re: Book for 10M AR Shooting
Agreed with Joel, the new air rifle book is like a Masters. However, very good book, very well detailed, and entirely more information than you can get out of it in one sitting. I think I read it multiple times this weekend and its definitely worth picking up in addition to Ways of the Rifle.
Re: Book for 10M AR Shooting
Both a very worth having, even if you are only going to shoot AR. I wish something that good had been available back when I was shooting 3P. I guess back then, late 80's early 90's the best option was the translation of the "Russian" book. In a similar way to "Ways" it had a lot of details on the then Russian international shooters. I just wish I could remember what it was called.

Alan, you're probably thinking of " Competitive Shooting" by AA YurYev. Used copies are worth about $100 these days.

Now he wishes he could find it!
