W231 185 gn short line loads
Ttgoods,
I have used 4.7 grains of W231 with a 185 grain LSWC (hard cast) bullet.
This load worked in a Custom Colt Government Model 1911 Wadcutter Gun
that had a BoMar Full Length Sight Rib on it with a 14 pound recoil spring.

185 HPSWB loads W231
I think the best load is 4.5/4.6 grains
Grouped tight and soft shooting.
That Zero bullet is great with the right recipe.

Re: 231
I'm seating my bullets to 1.232" OAL -- Missouri Bullet Co. sells a H&G 68-style 'long-nose' bullet; the Zero LSWCHP bullets might have a shorter nose, but if they seat in such a way that they have a similar case volume, then I wouldn't think a shorter OAL would be a problem.Ttgoods wrote:BTW those zero lhpswc sure do seat low does an oal of 1.2150 to 1.2250 sound right?

Tried 1.23 in my barrels and a hair too long. Shot a 94 6x with em so they seem pretty good at 4.5/4.6 231
