Steyr LP10 Front Sight Widths

Post by jabberwo »

Hi,

I'm trying to find a font sight blade for my LP10 that is skinnier than what it came with. It says 4.5mm on the side, not sure if that's width or height.

Our hosts says "order by width" but then shows a picture which seems to me to be showing front sights of different height AND width.

Actually the offering you linked, at least on my computer, says "order by height". That's certainly incorrect. The rest of the information gives the available Steyr AP front sight widths. AFAIK they do not come in different heights, and all the blades in the picture appear to me to be the same height. The 4.5 on yours refers to the width - you can measure it.

Yes you're of course right Fred. I wrote what I wanted it to say not what it did say. Typical (for me) miss-communication between brain and fingers!

Not saying you don't need what you want, but many consider a front sight that is apparently the same width as the bull as optimum.

I frequently find rear sights too narrow and must be widened.

You can buy the blades from Pilk

But that's just it, the front sight appears bigger to my eyes.

if it's not small enough: for the original lp1 & lp5 they had even smaller ones than they sell today. so maybe steyr still has some on stock...

I have a Steyr 3.0 and a 4.0 front sight for sale.
Should be listed in the for sale section, unless I deleted it.

The LP1 may have had but I'm not aware of the LP5 having a different foresight width. My LP5 certainly came with the same width foresight as my LP10.

Have you had an eye rest to determine that you are using a lens providing the correct focal length. It just seems unusual that the original front sight appears larger than the black.
