adjustable front iris

Hi guys.
Currently Im using an adjustable front iris in the front sight with a yellow filter on the outer ring.I think it was meant to give a bit of a contrast from the inner aiming ring.It is 1.2mm in thickness.Im interested in trying a red one but they are bloody expensive[$270nzd]so was just interested in hearing from anyone shooting smallbore rifle that has one.Its a Centra iris.
