Post by conradin »

ZAVALA Alejandra MatchGuns MGH1
ARUNOVIC Zorana Steyr LP10E
KIM Jangmi Morini CM182E
GUO Wenjun Walther LP400 Alu
CHAIKA Viktoria Steyr LP10
GOBERVILLE Celine Morini CM182E
ORLOVSKAYA Galina Pardini K12 Absorber
FRANQUET Sonia Steyr LP10E

All four major manufacturers have their pistols made it to the finals.
This is also MatchGuns first ever victory of any kind at the world level. Congrats to Mr. Cesare Morini.

Looks like a MG1E to me, not the MGH - loading lever is old style. Good to see that not only Steyr and Morini can make it to the finals :-)

Thank you for the correction. I am sure Cesare will put in the news himself later. I took a guess by looking at the size of the barrel weight holder. Also MG1E is out of production.

I'm way more inclined to say "Congrats Alejandra Zavala" than to congratulate Cesare Morini (with all due respect to him); after all, I think she's the first Mexican athlete to win a World Cup in AP, no?

It's good to see a diversity of equipment being used, but I think that fact just underscores that the sport is not simply a question of equipment as it is a myriad of other factors, such as:

- the athlete her/himself
- the coach(es)
- support structures (teammates, family/friends, national governing bodies, training facilities, etc.)

---
Anyway, this is truly great news for women's sport in Mexico, reminiscent of the Aída Román / Mariana Avitia silver/bronze in archery in London 2012.

No doubt about the winner needs to be congratulated! Although I tend not to thin about the nationality issue.

But Cesare need to be congratulated because he has to start a new company afresh, designed new pistols, and the hard work finally bore fruit. His pistol finally won a major competition. Also you now see more and more people using Matchguns.

His design really remind me as if it is a hybrid of SAM and Morini.
