User serviceable 10M PCP Pistol?

Post by brent375hh »

I now have a PCP that has sprung leaks twice in the last 15 years. It is never at a convenient time. Is there a maker that provides the user the instructions to change out their own internal seals? Having this ability would put me into buying that brand over all else.

Try a LP10 from styer.

They have a very complete instruction video gallery to fix almost every thing on that pistol.

Here is the link:

Most will require some special tooling to overhaul i.e. special pin spanners etc.
O rings and seals are not hard to change but working with high pressure air you need to know what you are doing.
If you are not trained in high pressure pneumatics or hydraulics do not touch.

I would think once my AP is done hissing with the leak, or after I remove the tank, I am no longer dealing with high pressure air, at least there does not seem to be any residual air in my current AP. Since I have changed out the HP o rings on the tank and adapter, my assumption is the at the ones internal for the regulator are no different except for the more complicated access to them. As you are trained, how are they different?

The dangers are to empty out all residual air. No real danger changing seals, just make sure you do not damage or nick the seals, protect and lubricate them.
Re assemble correctly using correct tools and tensions.
The next danger is re filling and leak/function checking.
I have seen some tanks poorly assembled that were filled to full pressure (one failed).
